Volumetric Weir
Description

A VOLUMETRIC calibrated weir is a portable flow measuring device for the determination of infiltration of newly installed sewer lines, as well as for measuring substancial flows in existing lines. It is a new concept for the volumetric measurement of sewage or water through a manhole.

The VOLUMETRIC WEIR is basically a compound weir which incorporates the advantage of a 90°V notch for measuring small infiltration flows where accuracy is imperative. It measures from 57 gallons per 24 hours to 3700 gallons per 24 hours, which is the range of normal Acceptance Test Requirements. The rectangular section is capable of measuring in gallons per day up to 35% of pipe capacity.

The Weir is of rugged construction and all materials are non-corroding. There are no loose parts that require assembly. Installation is quick and positive.

A bubble level is mounted at the top of the face where it is always visible. Calibrations are in U.S. GALLONS PER 24 HOURS and large bold type is used on the face plate. The face is lightly tinted for greater contract and easier reading. CALIBRATIONS CANNOT WEAR AWAY, ABRADE OR FADE, THEY ARE IMBEDDED. Calibration lines are in 2 millimeter increments. Error in excess of 100% exist another available calibrated V notch weirs. Such calibrations were determined by the Cone formula.

TO READ FLOW RATE; Check water level on back side off face plate. The figures above the line matching the water level give your the rate of flow in gallons per day.

Individual Volumetric Weirs are available for 6", 8", 10", 12", 14", 15" and 16" pipe. The 14" Weir uses a 12" face plate, while the 16" Weir uses a 15" face plate. Adaptors for 18", 21", 24", 27", 30", 36", 42" and 48" pipe are used in conjunction with 15" Weir.

Volumetric Weirs are also available in a set. Set A consists of 6", 8", 10", 12" and 15" Weirs with an 18" Adaptor in an exterior plywood storage and carrying case with handle and hasp. It measures 19 1/2" W x 19 1/2" D x 7 1/2" H.

Adaptors are available individually or in two sets. Set B consists of 21" through 30" Adaptors in a similar storage and carrying case measuring 30" W x 7 1/2" D x 13 1/2" H. Set C consists of 21" though 48" Adaptors also in a similar storage and carrying case measuring 41 1/2" W x 12" D x 13 1/2" H.
