  • Are you a Certified HazMet Team?
  • Do you conduct Arson Investigations?
  • Are you concerned about Domestic Preparedness?
  • Do you have a need for accurate Ammonia monitoring?
  • Are you in the Environmental business?

If you answered "Yes" to any of these questions, you may need a PID.

The 450 Series Photoionization Detector (PID) is intented for the detection of Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC's) such as benzene, toluene, xylene, & chlorinated hydrocarbons. Standard features include a large LED display, 2 alarm setpoints, visual/audible alarm indications, built-in sampling system, carrying case, and AC adaptor/charger. The PID operates on your choice of alkalines, niCad batteries, or AC adaptor. The PID can be easily calibrated with isobutylene.

Our PID is so easy to use & maintain that we included it in the AIM 450 Series. If you're familiar with our 450 Series pocket monitors, you'll understand why we say: Simple to use. Better Value. Smart Decision.

The AIM 450 Photoionozation Detector is a compact, easy to use, portable monitor which incorporates a photoionization detector (PID) for detection of Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC,S) such as benzene, chlorinated hydrocarbons, ethyl benzene, toluene, and xylene (BETX). Offering fast response and high sensitivity, photoionization is the preferred method for the detection of VOC's. Refer to the specifications below for a partial list of gases detected.

The AIM 450 (PID) features a large LED display audible and visual (LED) alarm indications. A selector switch allows you to choose between two available ranges, giving you the flexibility to monitor in a variety of different applications. The unit also includes a built in sampling pump, and a carrying case which provides protection and is easy to decontaminate after use.

The AIM 450 (PID) operates on 4 'C' size alkaline batteries. The AC adaptor/charger (included) will operate the unit or trickle charge the nickel cadmium batteries when the unit is not in used, the AC adaptor/charger simplify bypasses them and provides power to the unit. The AIM 450 (PID) will operate for 8 hours on nickel cadmium batteries and more than 12 hours on alkaline batteries.
