The Model 56 uses a unique FIRON filter with a matrix of ferromagnetic fibers. Theses fibers become magnetized when placed in the alayzer head cap capturing magnetic attraction.

The Model 56 displays the magnetic equivalent of the captured particles in micrograms of iron metal. We call this MAGNETIC IRON and it is independent of captured particle size.

The FIRON™ filter physically captures non-magnetic particles larger than the fiber spacing.

Backwashing the FIRON™ filter, after removal from the analyzer, recovers both the magnetic and non-magnetic particles for microscopic examination and other diagniostinc analyses.

This also cleans the filter which can be reused many times.
