HPLC Pump / Model PU-1580

The SSQD (Sslow suction, Quick delevery) pumping system is ideal to assure the most reliable and pulse free solvent flow. The simple design utilizes only 2 plungers and 2 check valves for optimum reliability and ease of maintenance. Performance is exceptional with flow rate precision over the flow rate range of 1µL to 10ml per minute. Versatile programming capabilities allow sophistacated time-based programs of isocatic, binary or ternary gradient elution, flow rate, solvent selection, etc., meeting the numerous requirements for applications in various fields.

The PU-1580 can easily be interfaced with the HPLC system with the new 32 bit HSS-1500 HPLC System software for Windows NT. The HSS-1500 package offers full automation of the HPLC system including the PU-1580 and other components, along with an audit trail with enhanced GLP compliance. Visual display and document maintenance information of the unit, analysis log, SOP and results of instrument validation are all available for laboratories in regulated industries.

Features

Compact-sized HPLC pump
The size of the pump is a mere 15 cm wide and 15 cm high. Two pumps and other components can be stacked to comprise a system requiring minimal bench scape  in the crowded modern laboratory.

Excellent pump performance
The SSQD (Slow suction, Quick delivery) pumping method ensures the most reliable, accurate and stable solvent delivery possible. A guaranteed flow rate precision within 0.1% assures good reproducibility of retention time. Pulse-free flow assures maximum detector sensitivity.

Extreme durability
Utilizing ceramic plungers and an automatic plunger cleaning system assures a long, maintenance free pump life. Diaphragms located behind the plunger seals and a pair of check valves act as pumps for cleaning the plunger surface, thus avoiding the precipitation of salts from butter solutions during intermittent operation.

Two solvent selection valve
Column washing/regeneration and solvent switching are easily carried out with the built-in 2-solvent selection valve provided as standard.

Semi micro delivery kit
The PU-1580 can be easily outfitted with a semi micro delivery head to allow rates from 30 to 100µl/min for 1 to 2 mm columns to reduce solvent consumption and disposal problems and make the accurate low flow rate gradients desired for LC/MS applications.

Full programmability
Stand alone front panel programming of 10 files with up to 64 steps/file is provided eliminating the need for external computers or system controllers. Built-in program allows either high pressure gradient operation by 2 pumps or low pressure gradient operation using one pump and proportioning valve without need of a system controller. The stand alone PU-1580 can even control a 6-solvent selection valve to allow control of complex applications such as Amino Acid Analysis. Of course full PC control is available is desired.

GLP/GMP compliance
The PU-1580 was designed keeping GLP/GMP compliance in mind. Utilizing the 32 bit HSS-1500 HPLC System control software, GLP/GMP  information such as model name, serial number, ROM version, plunger strokes, and pressure profile can be stored in a database along with the analysis log. In addition, instrument validation can be easily performed according to an electronic Standard Operation Procedure (SOP) provided with the software. Test  results of validation are recorded manually, and the results obtained are automatically compared with acceptable criteria set  by user. The results can be printed out for documentation along with the SOP.
